I regard this as a loss if true. The Facebook application for iPhone is one of the most elegant I know of in terms of providing function in a nicely integrated package that is also nice to look at. Count me among those who thinks this is bad.

I wouldn't want a stranger poking around my song playlists whether they are jacked in or Zuned in. Other than the dubious wireless song sharing capability of the Zune, I don't think it competes at all feature-wise against the iPod and won't pose a threat to Apple's delicious dominance.

Being a professional myself I remember having those fears a few years ago. In fact we lost a large client because one of the employees thought that her high school son could do the same level of work that we did. If that were true I would say shame on us, in reality the client came back to us a few months later when the kid couldn't actually produce the same level of edit quality and creativity that we do.
The price drop doesn't bother me one bit. I think if anything it does open up the door for a teenager to start learning on high end software, then by the time they've finished college and have a sense of who they are as an editor they'll be a welcome, proficient addition, to someones company. I think it serves everyone in the end.
Great post and the kind of logic that this new FCPX will bring to those wanting to get into the video production industry. I'm almost 4 years into my video editing "career" and still forward people to the pros for projects that are too much for me and ones that I know my skill level limits on. I'm excited about this new version, hoping it will expand my skills even more.

Here's a few quick ones.
NATO still musters formidable military capability when the US contribution is excluded. I don't think it's fair to say that "the US -is- the NATO military", even if we are the biggest component.

I let Wal Mart know that I don't approve of their practices by avoiding their stores. My money goes to other retailers.

Lenox Mall one in Buckhead. Here without a car, so it has to be something I can Marta to. I got there early this morning and the sign was already up that they were out of stock for the day.
If you have an idea where I could look let me know. I'd love a 64 gig black ATT ready Ipad2. Many coworkers have either the original or the newer iPad and I'm ready to hop on that train.
I dont know if Apple systems take takes this into account for stock distribution, but LS would be one of the last places Id expect to find an AT&T/GSM based iPad, given the US Headquarters for AT&T Mobility 1500 feet from the mall.
There are other stores, I like the one in North Point. Not too big and not the snobbery found at LS, IMHO. However, if you dont have a car, I guess its kind of moot.

If any of you have bought albums off iTunes with interact booklets I have discovered a problem - they don't work!!! - It plays it for a second as if it is a tune - it doesn't open it. arrgggh.
My U2 booklet has been broken since a week or so after I downloaded the set, which was the first week they had the set available after delivering my U2 iPod (b&w of course).
Apple won't fix it, either. Every time I ask them to, they can't understand what I'm talking about, and offer to let me redownload the whole music set "just this once." But the booklet isn't ever re-sent. :(

It's a real pity the black one has to be 8GB. Why can't we have all the colours or have it white?
Greed on Apple's part might be the reason. I'm sure they will wait a few months after everyone has bought the 4GB in color, then announce 8GB iPod Nanos in color.

I don't know about a 3D display but Apple was trying to get the third gen iPad out around the same time as the next iPhone, so Septemberish.

Time for the headaches.
I feel sorry for you. :( No one I know suffered from headaches from watching 3D movies.
Having said that, I feel hesitant about this... I haven't been impressed especially by the sharpness that fake 3D can offer. Impression of depth is good enough for me, but the sharpness really sucks. 3D so far completely counters everything that we have worked for to get to HD movies in one blow. It's funny how modern 3D TV's have got to 1080p and all, and then backpedals from all that with blurry 3D movies.

Hum this is brilliant marketing.
The subscription price serves as an anchor price that makes you feel the regular price is cheaper, hence more buying are expected at regular price.
What people don't understand is that the rental prices are beneficial for new startup design firms or freelance creative professionals to get started right away in an affordable price UNTIL they have money or better credit to make a full purchase by that time. Adobe, I think, is doing the right thing here.
I do not condone piracy or stealing off Adobe products JUST because they're expensive. The software is NOT a kiddie doodle app for hobbyists. This is PRO level we are talking here.

Interesting points considering you don't know the music I listen to. But you are probably correct in some ways. It is interesting that some of the innovation came from EMI technicians in the studio and the Beatles themselves were influenced by countless other American artists so who made who first?

300-600 mb over the air?
Yes, completely unacceptable! Over a typical WiFi network, it may take a massive 600 MB / 10 Mbps = 8 minutes! That's a conservative estimate. My DSL connection is at 18 Mbps.
Then it's a greater problem for those who have data caps in my opinion. But that's not a new problem for those, and downloading iOS updates. It's just that this time it doesn't need to pass through iTunes first.

Here's my roommate's macbook. Hasn't been serviced yet, you can tell by the screws.
just kidding
so if u have 3 screws, that means it was serviced
my 2 macbook for business came out of the box with 3 screws so would that indicate that they serviced that macbooks before they were shipped to me

Only go there when absolutely necessary, and shower after. BTW, I read somewhere of some people who every time they go to Walmart accidentally break/damage/spill something.
