But here's the question though: when we see protective cases for the new Nano? :confused:What do you want that for... my 2 1/2 year old iPod mini doesn't have any flaws - except a minute scratch in the screen after an unfortunate incident where that and my keys ended up in the same trouser pocket - even a tumbling down a concrete stairway didn't leave any marks... Never had any protective case on it (except for the belt clip), the minis are durable little buggers, and hopefully the new nanos will be likewise... :D

Do you know what a computer without drivers is? A paperweight. The OS is not a single monolithic thing; it's made up of many components. The notion of what is "written into the OS" is more complicated than you seem to think, and it's childish to dismiss a vulnerability because it's in a driver.
Well... but at least it's not Apple's fault, because they didn't produce the driver. Therefore it's actually not a concern of Apple's but of the driver's producer's.
On the other hand Apple did include it into it's OS seemingly without testing it thorougly, and that is, of course, a concern of Apple's. So they will have to work together to get rid of that - and I'm sure they will - and I may be smug again. :p

BS. 3G was fully matured at the time of release of the first Iphone. It had been commercially adopted for over 5 years at that point in time.
3G did take more battery life at the time of the release of the original, and the iPhone was enough of a battery hog with its unprecedented screen size and CPU power that it was something of a concern. Still should've had it, but I remember that turning off 3G could significantly extend your battery life on the iPhone 3G.

Think you're imagining it. Have updated my MB and i still can't hear the fan in normal usage. I expect it will kick in at some time when it decides things are getting a bit hot.

I've been asking that question for years. I have NO idea how they're pulling it off. They're not growing, in fact they're shrinking. I remember when they actually sold TVs and receivers and all sorts of stuff. Now, yeah, I go there for the odd connector or cable or electrical tools...or on occasion, specialty batteries like CMOS batteries. That's it and only then because Frys is too far away for such a small purchase.
Them selling iPad 2 makes me wonder who approached whom. Was Radio Shack desperate to carry it or is Apple trying to offload the management from its own stores?

The G5 cases were/are absolutely giant -- to accommodate the massive amount of airflow the G5 chip needed. With this Intel chip running much cooler, it shouldn't require the need of a giant case with huge heat sinks.I was thinking that myself. If it's just a retro fit with a bunch of wasted space it just won't be right for a pro box, IMHO.

There are people studying his typography....etc. For example, there is a study about the color of the ink he used at the beginning of his Leipzig period. They found a relationship of patterns of writing and the color of the ink according to his age. That's is one of the thousands ways they have tried to find out the date of a single piece. There a lot people who devote their lives to perform or/and study his music.

Ok, I see your point. But when does the consumer stand up and say "I DON'T WANT WINDOWS ON MY COMPUTER" and force the Dells to load something else besides Windows. If the OS was so undesirable, the consumer would have been up in arms. Dell sells computers with Linux preloaded, but I don't see Linux making any dent in anyones armor.

I agree and disagree. It's more than just the cool factor. But that is a big part. Consumers also know that a Apple product is more reliable, better supported and overall less headache than a PC.
So basically, there is a reality to the marketing hype.
Im not sure about the reliability, Apple products have taken a massive down turn in reliability. My old G4 is going strong but everyone I know who has a Mac Book has had to have them repaired by Apple stores. Seems like the dvd drives on them break quite a lot.
